Master Sergeant Richard F. Potts graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute and Eastern Kentucky University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and completed a distinguished military career in the Army Reserves. In Lexington he worked as an engineer and a postal worker.
After retiring, Mr. Potts was active in the Liberty Road Faith Fellowship, the treasurer of the Rabbit Run Homeowners Association, and as an instructor at the 2085th Army Reserve School. Mr. Potts was involved in numerous veteran support groups, offering sympathy and solidarity to fellow service members. Mr. Potts died in 2024.
